West Newbury Police and Fire Departments Respond to Crash Into Utility Pole

WEST NEWBURY — Chief Michael Dwyer reports that the West Newbury Police and Fire Departments responded to a crash involving a utility pole on South Street Monday afternoon.

WEST NEWBURY — Chief Michael Dwyer reports that the West Newbury Police and Fire Departments responded to a crash involving a utility pole on South Street Monday afternoon.

At approximately 12:53 p.m., West Newbury Police and Fire responded to the area of 50 South St. for a report of a single-vehicle crash into a utility pole.

The operator of the vehicle was treated at the scene for injuries and did not require transport to a hospital. 

The West Newbury Department of Public Works provided assistance at the scene.

This incident remains under investigation by the West Newbury Police.

National Grid Electric responded. The road will remain closed in the area of the crash until utility services are restored.

Residents in the area will experience electrical service interruption and traffic delays between the Moulton and Indian Hill streets in the areas of South Street on the West Newbury-Newbury town line until that work is complete.
