Groveland Firefighter Chris Bosch Promoted to Lieutenant

GROVELAND — Chief Robert Lay is pleased to announce that Groveland Firefighter Chris Bosch has been promoted to lieutenant of the Groveland Fire Department’s South Station.

Lt. Bosch will begin his new position effective immediately. His promotion is part of Chief Lay’s long-term effort to professionalize and modernize the Groveland Fire Department, creating a trim command staff that’s highly trained and has all the certifications expected of a modern fire department.

“I am pleased to promote Firefighter Bosch to the rank of Lieutenant. He possesses and demonstrates the skill set and attributes of an effective leader,” Chief Lay said. “On behalf of the entire department, I wish to congratulate him and know that he will be successful in his new position.”

As lieutenant, Bosch will lead a team of on-call firefighters at South Station, report to Capt. Richard York, and carry out the mission of the department. As a local business manager with day-to-day responsibilities in town, Lt. Bosch is available to serve the Groveland Fire Department every day.

Lt. Bosch joined the Groveland Fire Department in 2015. He previously served as a firefighter in Henniker, N.H. for five years, and currently manages a local tree service company. Additionally, Lt. Bosch served seven years in the U.S. Army, ending as a first lieutenant, leading a group of soldiers into combat. He is a National Certified Firefighter I/II and also an EMT.

Lt. Bosch is currently enrolled in a series of fire trainings with the Massachusetts Fire Academy to develop his skills as an officer within the department.

“I am thankful to Chief Lay for the promotion and look forward to beginning my new role,” Lt. Bosch said. “I am honored to continue serving the Groveland community and keeping our residents safe.”
