Raynham Police and Fire Respond to Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Route 138

RAYNHAM — Police Chief David LaPlante and Fire Chief Bryan LaCivita report that the Raynham Police Department responded to a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and pickup truck on Route 138 last night.

RAYNHAM — Police Chief David LaPlante and Fire Chief Bryan LaCivita report that the Raynham Police Department responded to a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and pickup truck on Route 138 last night.

On Sunday, Aug. 23 at approximately 7:45 p.m., Raynham Police and Fire Departments responded to Route 138 at King Philip Street for a report of a serious crash involving a motorcycle and pickup truck.

The motorcycle operator sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported via ambulance to Morton Hospital, and then via MedFlight to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment. The motorcycle operator, identified as 37-year-old Daniel Pitts of South Easton, passed away overnight due to injuries sustained in the crash.

The truck driver remained on scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police, the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office and the Raynham Police Department.
