Stoneham Police Department Charges Four in Connection with Stabbing

STONEHAM — Chief James O’Connor reports that Stoneham Police Detectives have charged four individuals in connection with an October 2025 stabbing incident following an extensive, months-long investigation.

RAMON MIRANDA, AGE 18, of STONEHAM, has been charged with the following:

• Armed and Masked Robbery
• Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
• Assault and Battery
• Conspiracy
• Obstruction of Justice

VICTOR LOPES, AGE 18, of STONEHAM, has been charged with the following:

• Armed and Masked Robbery
• Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
• Conspiracy
• Obstruction of Justice
• Destroying or Concealing Evidence

On Oct. 12, 2025, Stoneham Police were dispatched to Spring Street in Wakefield for reports of two individuals, now identified as MIRANDA and LOPES, who had been stabbed. A preliminary investigation determined that the initial incident occurred in Stoneham. 

Through a 10-month-long investigation, with assistance from Wakefield Police and Massachusetts State Police, Stoneham Police determined that MIRANDA and LOPES had met up with a 17-year-old juvenile male allegedly for a drug transaction.

During the transaction, an altercation occurred between the three male parties during which MIRANDA brandished what appeared to be a firearm and the juvenile pulled out a knife. The firearm was later determined to be an airsoft pistol.

Following the altercation, the three parties fled the scene and attempted to discard their respective weapons, which were later recovered by police.

The investigation revealed that a second juvenile had allegedly arranged the meet-up between the parties as a setup for an apparent robbery. 

This was an isolated incident, and all involved parties were previously known to each other.

Both MIRANDA and LOPES were arraigned in Woburn District Court.

The 17-YEAR-OLD MALE JUVENILE, of STONEHAM, has been arraigned in Lowell Juvenile Court on the following charges: 

•  Assault and Battery with Dangerous Weapon Causing Serious Bodily
  Injury
• Assault and Battery with Dangerous Weapon
• Destroying or Concealing Evidence

The additional Stoneham juvenile was arraigned in Lowell Juvenile Court on a Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery charge.

“I want to commend Detective Michael Colotti for his steadfast work in solving this case,” said Chief O’Connor. “Thanks to his efforts, and the assistance of the Wakefield Police Department and Massachusetts State Police, multiple people have been charged. This case highlights the importance of collaboration between agencies.”
