MEDFIELD — Superintendent Jeffrey J. Marsden and Principal Nat Vaughn are pleased to share that Blake Middle School eighth-graders hosted a successful holiday dinner at Tilden Village last week.

On Thursday, Dec. 7, 15 eighth-grade Blake Middle School students served turkey pies from Outpost Farm to senior residents.

The meals, beverages and paper goods were contributed by 30 Blake Middle School families. Tilden residents also had their meals while enjoying holiday music performed by five members of Blake Middle’s chorus, three members of the band and four members of the school orchestra.

Residents were also able to have meals delivered to their apartments via door-to-door service by participating student servers and traveling student carolers.

Blake Middle School collected $570 in donations to purchase supplies for the dinner and support the Medfield Home Committee as part of the Tilden Service Dinner event.

“This has been one of our students’ favorite service events each year,” said Principal Vaughn. “We’re grateful to have this great experience available for our students and thank them and their families for helping to bring a little extra cheer to the residents of Tilden Village during the holiday season.”
