DOVER — Superintendent Christine Boston and Dover High School Principal Peter Driscoll are pleased to share that senior Cadence Friend-Gray has been named a commended student in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Friend-Gray is among approximately 34,000 students nationwide being recognized as a commended student for her academic achievements. Commended students were selected from a group of over 1.2 million applicants in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2025 Preliminary SAT, the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
According to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, commended students are among the top 50,000 high scorers who entered the 2027 competition. The commended students’ recognition not only reflects outstanding achievement but also academic potential.
A letter of commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation and Dover High School has been presented to Friend-Gray by Principal Driscoll.
“Being recognized as a commended student is a significant achievement, and we are proud to see her hard work and academic commitment recognized on a national level,” said Principal Driscoll. “We congratulate Cadence on this well-earned honor and look forward to seeing where her talents and ambition take her next.”
