SWANSEA — Town Administrator Mallory Aronstein, Veteran’s Services Director Kevin Serpa and the Board of Selectmen wish to invite community members to the Town of Swansea’s Memorial Day ceremony and parade.
WHEN:
Ceremony – Saturday, May 27, at 10 a.m.
Parade – Monday, May 29, at 1 p.m.
WHERE:
Ceremony – Veterans Memorial Green, Gardners Neck Road, Swansea
Parade – St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at the American Legion Post #303, 73 Ocean Grove Ave.
WHAT:
Swansea’s Memorial Day ceremony to honor those who lost their lives in service to our country is sponsored by the American Legion Post #303, VFW Post #2045 and Swansea Veterans Services.
The ceremony will include a traditional wreath placing and a demonstration by the Honor Guard with both police officers and firefighters, followed by several presentations. There will be breakfast served following the ceremony at the VFW Post #2045, 130 Main St.
The Town of Swansea invites all Veterans to march in the parade and display the continuation of patriotism from all generations.
