East Taunton Elementary School Principal Stephanie Hoye Named District’s New Director of Student Services & Transportation

TAUNTON — Superintendent John Cabral and Executive Director of Human Resources Dr. Cheryl Butts are pleased to announce that East Taunton Elementary School Principal Stephanie Hoye has been named Taunton Public Schools’ new Director of Student Services & Transportation.

TAUNTON — Superintendent John Cabral and Executive Director of Human Resources Dr. Cheryl Butts are pleased to announce that East Taunton Elementary School Principal Stephanie Hoye has been named Taunton Public Schools’ new Director of Student Services & Transportation. 

Hoye will assume the position on July 1 following the retirement of current Director Kathy Perry. Hoye has been serving as the principal of the East Taunton Elementary School since March 2015.

“Stephanie possesses the unique ability to make every student, staff member and faculty member feel cared for and continuously pushes everyone to reach the level of success she knows that they are capable of achieving,” Superintendent Cabral said. “I’m confident that as the Director of Student Services and Transportation, Stephanie will continue to build relationships with all those in our community and further our district’s opportunities for success for all of its community members.”

Hoye joined the Taunton Public Schools in 2005 as a guidance counselor at the Hopewell Elementary School. Hoye served as a guidance counselor for 10 years and also went on to become a teaching assistant principal at Hopewell in 2012.

While serving as a teaching assistant principal, Hoye supported the building principal with all administrative duties and collaborated with community organizations and partners to support school initiatives. Hoye was appointed as principal of the East Taunton Elementary School in 2015.

While at the East Taunton Elementary School, Hoye has been a part of several district initiatives and a member of multiple Community Input Teams (CIT) to help support and develop plans for bettering the school community. She also chaired multiple Special Education Team meetings and 504 Plan Meetings. 

“From a very young age, I knew that I wanted to work with children and families. I was committed to helping others succeed and knew that by supporting families and children I would be building a foundation for a stronger future for our community,” Hoye said. “It has been a privilege to work as the principal of East Taunton Elementary for the past several years and I greatly look forward to continuing to assist our community in my new role within the district.”

Prior to her work with Taunton Public Schools, Hoye worked an as outpatient clinic director and community case manager at Corrigan Mental Health.

Hoye received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Bridgewater State University and a Master of Social Work from Simmons College. She holds numerous licenses in Massachusetts, including a Director of Pupil Personnel Services license, Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent license and more.

The superintendent’s office will begin the search for a principal for the East Taunton Elementary School and a search committee will be established to give input on the process and candidates. Information regarding the search and opportunities for community participation will be shared as it becomes available.
