RIBOUL and JEAN were arraigned at Brockton District Court on Friday, May 21. They are being held without bail at the Plymouth County House of Correction pending a dangerousness hearing.
JOHNSON was arraigned on Thursday, May 20, at Brockton District Court and was released on personal recognizance.
WOOLLEY was already in custody at the Suffolk County House of Correction on unrelated charges. He is being held without bail until a dangerousness hearing related to the Bridgewater charges.
On Feb. 14, at approximately 1:45 a.m., a man who was bleeding from his head walked into the Bridgewater Police station to report that he had just been the victim of an armed home invasion and was assaulted at his apartment on Hammond Street.
The victim reported that cash, his cell phone, a gaming device, his roommate’s television and his roommate’s cell phone were allegedly taken by a group of males that entered the apartment.
The suspects, later identified as RIBOUL, JEAN and WOOLLEY, allegedly entered the home with firearms and demanded cash. The suspects were masked and dressed in dark clothing.
The victim told police that he was pistol-whipped until he gave up his cash and cell phone. The victim was interviewed briefly by police and was then transported by ambulance to Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital to be treated for his injuries. Other roommates in the apartment were not injured, but also had their cell phones taken from them.
Detective Sgt. Scott Hile and Detective Peter Balboni responded to the home and began an investigation.
Through the subsequent investigation, with the assistance of several law enforcement partners, the detectives were able to identify RIBOUL, JEAN, WOOLLEY and JOHNSON as suspects in the case.
While JOHNSON is not believed to have participated in the home invasion, she allegedly used a credit card stolen from the victims. Both RIBOUL and JOHNSON also allegedly used one of the victim’s cell phones to change the settings of an electronic banking app, subsequently allowing them access to the victim’s funds to send to themselves.
The investigation determined that the incident was not random.
Bridgewater Police obtained multiple search warrants and arrest warrants and arrested RIBOUL, JEAN and JOHNSON last week with the assistance of the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force and Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section. WOOLLEY was already in custody on unrelated charges.
“I commend the Bridgewater Police detectives and officers that worked tirelessly on this violent incident and ensured these subjects were taken into custody,” Chief Delmonte said. “I would also like to thank investigators from the Brockton Police Department, Wrentham Police Department, Pawtucket (RI) Police Department, United States Secret Service, Rhode Island State Police, and Massachusetts State Police for their invaluable assistance as well.”
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
