MELROSE — The Melrose Police Department, working in collaboration with Medford Police, arrested and charged a 58-year-old Watertown man with allegedly robbing a business.
DANIEL CLANCY, 58, of WATERTOWN, was arrested and charged with:
- Unarmed Robbery
- Larceny From a Person
On Sunday, July 19, Melrose Police were called to a fast-food restaurant at 470 Lynn Fells Parkway for a report of a robbery.
Through a preliminary investigation, officers learned that a man in his 50s approached a clerk and gestured toward his waistband while demanding cash. The clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of cash.
Melrose Police officers and detectives reviewed surveillance footage of the incident and identified the individual as CLANCY, who is known to police. A subsequent investigation further identified CLANCY as the suspect.
On Monday, July 20, Melrose Police obtained an arrest warrant in Malden District Court charging CLANCY.
Monday evening, Melrose Police worked with Medford Police to locate CLANCY. Medford Police detectives then took CLANCY into custody without incident.
CLANCY was arraigned Tuesday in Malden District Court, where he was released on personal recognizance on the new charges, but held on two other pending cases out of Cambridge and Quincy District Courts.
