TOWNSEND — Principal Laurie Smith is pleased to share that North Middlesex High School senior Abigail Ouelette has been named a commended student in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Ouelette is among approximately 34,000 students nationwide being recognized as a commended student for her academic achievements. Commended students were selected from a group of over 1.2 million applicants in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2025 Preliminary SAT, the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
According to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, commended students are among the top 50,000 high scorers who entered the 2027 competition. The commended students’ recognition not only reflects outstanding achievement but also academic potential.
A letter of commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation and North Middlesex Regional High School has been presented to Ouellette by Principal Smith.
“We are incredibly proud of Abigail and this well-earned recognition of her academic accomplishments,” said Principal Smith. “Being named a commended student is a significant achievement and we are pleased to celebrate Abigail’s hard work, dedication and potential.”
“Abigail’s recognition reflects North Middlesex Regional School District’s commitment to supporting students as they grow, pursue goals and achieve excellence,” said Superintendent Brad Morgan. “Her success is a testament to the opportunities and support provided by North Middlesex Regional School District, and we look forward to seeing what she accomplishes in the future.”
