NEW LONDON, New Hampshire — Superintendent Winfried Feneberg is pleased to announce Charles Langille Jr. has been selected to be the new principal at Kearsarge Regional High School.
Langille will replace Principal Robert Bennett starting July 1. Bennett recently accepted the position of principal at Laconia High School, where he will also begin on July 1.
Langille was chosen as one of three finalists for the position by a screening interview team made up of teachers, students, parents, paraeducators, a school board representative and administration. After a second round of interviews, he was chosen as the final candidate and approved by School Board on Monday, April 20.
Langille currently works as the assistant principal of Mascenic Regional High School in New Ipswich, where he has worked as the student activities/co-curricular coordinator, developed and maintained the student handbook, initiated the redevelopment of student government with a student constitution, served as the lead for student discipline, directly supervised and evaluated staff, served as the school’s truancy officer, mentored the director of school counseling, was a member of the joint District and Community Safety Committee and chaired the Athletic Appeals Committee.
From 2015-16, he also served as the director of school counseling at Mascenic Regional High.
“Charles has demonstrated that he is a remarkable administrator, a proficient leader, and an educator with an eye toward which initiatives will best support students and their academic journeys,” Superintendent Feneberg said. “We’re excited to have him join our team, and for this new chapter at Kearsarge Regional High School.”
Langille has also worked previously as a school counselor at Conant High School; adjunct faculty member of record at Keene State College; distance learning facilitator in at Louisiana Tech University in Rustin, Louisiana; long-term substitute school counselor at Conant High School/Jaffrey-Rindge Middle School, and assistant site director at the Cheshire YMCA after-school program, among other roles.
He holds a post-master’s certification in educational leadership from Keene State College, a master’s degree of education, school counseling from Keene State College, a bachelor’s degree in studio arts from Keene State College and an associate’s degree in studio arts from Mount Wachusett Community College.
Langille is additionally a New Hampshire certified principal, director of school counseling and school counselor; certified instructor for Active Shooter Response Protocol (ALICE); and special education Local Educational Agency (LEA) representative- New Hampshire Department of Education and Drummond and Woodsum trained.
