Bedford Police Searching for Bank Robbery Suspect

BEDFORD — Chief Robert Bongiorno reports that the Bedford Police Department is searching for a man who allegedly robbed Brookline Bank this morning.

Police received a hold up alarm call from Brookline Bank, 168 The Great Road, at 10:10 a.m.

The first officer on scene reported a bank robbery had occurred. The suspect allegedly approached a teller and made a verbal demand for cash. No note was passed and no weapon was shown.

A witness reported the man then fled out the front door heading toward 200 The Great Road. The Burlington Police Department’s K-9 unit responded to the area and searched the parking lot, where the scent stopped. The K-9 also tracked the suspect’s scent toward the bike path before it was lost. Surrounding towns have been notified of the incident and received a description of the suspect.

Police are looking for a white male with a brown beard, plaid long-sleeved shirt, dark sneakers, black backpack, sunglasses and possibly wearing a blonde wig.

“We are actively searching for the suspect,” Chief Bongiorno said. “If you see a man fitting this description, please immediately contact police.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Bedford Police Department at 781-275-1212.
