SALEM — The Salem Police Department reports that the shelter-in-place order issued during Tuesday night’s search for a wanted fugitive has been lifted after police determined he is no longer in the search area.

On Tuesday, Oct. 27, Salem Police and law enforcement partners searched for DAQUHAN CROMER, a wanted fugitive who was last seen near Millville and Taylor streets wearing a white tank top and dark pants. He is described as a Black male, 215 pounds and 6 feet, 2 inches tall. Police issued a shelter-in-place order for the area while conducting the search.

CROMER is wanted on an escape warrant from New Hampshire State Prison and in connection with multiple felonies in Salem. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Following an extensive search and thorough investigation, police determined that CROMER was no longer in the area and lifted the shelter-in-place order. Police have identified no ongoing threat to the public in the search area related to this incident.

Salem Police continue to work with state and local law enforcement partners to locate CROMER.

Anyone with any information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Salem Police at (603) 893-1911.
