Boxborough Police Announce Appointment of New Full Time Officer

Robert Fagundes to Replace Retiring Officer

BOXBOROUGH — Police Chief Warren B. Ryder is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Fagundes as a Full Time Police Officer for the Town of Boxborough.

Fagundes is currently a Templeton Police Officer and a part time Boxborough Police Officer and Dispatcher.

He will fill the spot left by the retirement of Detective Benjamin M. Lavine. Lavine is retiring on August 15 after 24 years of dedicated service to the Town of Boxborough. Lavine has agreed to remain a Special Police Officer for the time being, keeping his experience and institutional knowledge in town and continuing the in-house training programs that he conducts.

“I am happy to welcome Officer Fagundes to Boxborough full time,” Chief Ryder said. “At the same time, I wish to congratulate Detective Lavine on a job well-done over the past 24 years. He has served our community well, and I wish him the best of luck on his next adventure.”

Fagundes begins his full time job with Boxborough on August 21, when he will enter a 12-week field training program.
