North Reading Police Arrest Man for Threatening Brother-in-Law with Knife
NORTH READING — Police Chief Michael P. Murphy announces that the North Reading Police Department arrested a local man after responding to a domestic violence call late Tuesday evening.
As the result of an investigation, RYAN BEAUSOLEIL AGE 22 of NORTH READING has been charged with:
- Threat to commit a Crime (Murder)
- Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Bayonet)
- Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Bayonet)
- Vandalism of Private Property
- Carrying a dangerous weapon without a permit (Double-edged bayonet)
Police responded to an address on Park Street shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an assault and battery. Police broadcast a description of a suspect, who might be armed and dangerous, over the radio. An officer came upon BEAUSOLEIL a short time later and recognized him.
BEAUSOLEIL was detained, and officers found a double-edged bayonet on his person, with a 10-inch blade.
BEAUSOLEIL indicated to police, in an interview, that he was having problems with members of his family. He allegedly chased and threatened his brother-in-law with the bayonet during an altercation on Tuesday. BEAUSOLEIL also allegedly chased his brother-in-law, waved the bayonet and lunged the point of the bayonet toward the front door of the family’s house to prevent it from closing. He also allegedly waved the bayonet around and threatened to kill members of his family. At that time, police were called.
BEAUSOLEIL was being held on $2,000 bail at the North Reading Police Department pending his arraignment in Woburn District Court.
