LAKEVILLE — The Lakeville Police Department confirms that officers responded to a residence on Heritage Hill Drive on Saturday afternoon after receiving a report of a disturbed person who may be under the influence and armed with a firearm. An officer-involved shooting occurred during the response.
Officers immediately rendered aid to an injured man. Lakeville Fire Department paramedics then transported him to an area hospital for treatment. Two Lakeville Police officers were also taken to the hospital for evaluations.
There is no ongoing threat to the public.
Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the incident.
