Two Dover High School Spring Athletic Teams Recognized for Sportsmanship

DOVER — The Dover School District is proud to share that the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association Sportsmanship Committee recognized two Dover High School spring teams for sportsmanship during the 2026 season.

The boys baseball and Unified volleyball teams each finished second in their sport in the committee’s Division I sportsmanship rankings.

The baseball team qualified for the playoffs with a 16-4 record despite playing every game on the road during a field renovation. The Unified volleyball team reached the state championship after a semifinal upset and finished as runner-up.

Both teams illustrate that success does not come at the expense of sportsmanship.

This accomplishment also comes after five winter sports teams — boys ice hockey, girls ice hockey, spirit squad, boys alpine skiing and the Unified basketball team — at Dover High School received sportsmanship recognition from NHIAA during the 2025-26 season. 

The Dover School District is committed to teaching students at all grade levels about the importance of sportsmanship and how to work well with a team both on and off the field. With this initiative at the forefront of athletics, Dover High School has kicked off the fall season head-on.

The girls soccer team has started the season with a 5-2-1 record and is looking strong for a playoff run. Boys soccer is currently ranked 7th in the Division I program; volleyball is coming off of a NHIAA DI runner-up finish in 2025. Boys and girls cross country are both ranked 7th in DI; the gold team is currently ranked 2nd in DI with a 12-1 record, and the Unified soccer team has started off the season with a 1-0 record.

“It is incredible to watch our students be recognized for their athletic accomplishments, as well as being good teammates and competitors,” said Superintendent Christine Boston. “Our student-athletes should be incredibly proud of achieving sportsmanship recognition.”
