TEWKSBURY — Chief Ryan M. Columbus reports that Tewksbury Police arrested two people on multiple drug charges Wednesday.
HEATHER CHONG, 42, of ORLANDO, FLORIDA, was arrested on the following charges:
- Trafficking in 10 Grams or More of Fentanyl
- Possession of a Class B Drug (Crack Cocaine)
RYAN McCARTHY, 35, of BILLERICA, was arrested on the following charges:
- Trafficking in 10 Grams or More of Fentanyl
- Possession of a Class A Drug
- Possession of a Class B Drug (Crack Cocaine)
On Wednesday, Sept. 23, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Tewksbury Police officers responded to a hotel on Andover Street after an employee reported finding suspected drugs in a room.
Officers examined the substances and believed them to be fentanyl and crack cocaine.
Through an investigation, officers identified McCARTHY and CHONG as the two people staying in the room and determined there was probable cause to arrest them on drug charges.
Police seized approximately 17.5 grams of suspected crack cocaine and 25.4 grams of suspected fentanyl.
McCARTHY and CHONG were arraigned in Lowell District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
