METHUEN — The City of Methuen is pleased to announce that the Methuen Police Department has promoted four officers, including a new Acting Police Chief, following the retirement of Chief Scott McNamara.
During a swearing-in ceremony held Tuesday, Aug. 25, Capt. James Moore was promoted to Acting Chief, Lt. Matt Mueskes to Acting Captain, Sgt. Matt Morel to Acting Lieutenant, and Patrolman Christ Gallant to Acting Sergeant.
These promotions reflect the department’s commitment to leadership and growth. All four officers bring over 88 years of law enforcement experience combined.
“I am thrilled to announce the promotions of the exemplary officers within our City’s Police Department. Their commitment to professionalism and excellence will provide the continued support of our residents, community members, and visitors of Methuen,” said Mayor DJ Beauregard. “Our officers go above and beyond to protect and serve our community at the highest level. I am proud to share the promotions of each officer with our community, including our new Acting Chief Moore, and look forward to watching them continue to grow here in Methuen.”
