BRIDGEWATER — Chief John Schlatz reports that the Bridgewater Fire Department extricated a driver while responding to a two-vehicle crash on Route 24 Wednesday night.
On Wednesday, April 8, at 10:25 p.m. Bridgewater Fire responded to Route 24 North for report of a two-vehicle crash, with one vehicle, a pickup truck, having crashed into the woods.
Bridgewater Engine 3 made initial contact with the driver of the pickup truck and with assistance from a responding Raynham engine, engaged in an extended extrication to free the driver from the pickup truck. The driver’s lower extremities were pinned.
The driver of the truck was transported to Boston Medical Center South for injuries that appeared to be non-life threatening.
The driver of the second vehicle was transported by Raynham Fire crews to Morton Hospital.
Engine 3 remained on scene to assist with removing the truck from the woods.
The crash is under investigation by Massachusetts State Police.
