MEDWAY — Superintendent Armand Pires and Principal John Murray are pleased to share that Medway High School welcomed motivational speaker Anthony Valentine for an all-school assembly focused on resilience, self-worth and personal growth.

The event, titled “Your Story Matters: A Morning with Anthony Valentine,” was held on March 18 in the high school auditorium and included students from all grade levels.

Valentine, a former EMT and founder of KLTR Media, spoke to students about the importance of understanding their own experiences and building meaningful connections with others. Drawing on his background and personal journey, he encouraged students to reflect on the choices they make and how those choices shape their relationships, communities and overall well-being.

During the presentation, Valentine emphasized the importance of self-reflection and connection, encouraging students to better understand what they carry within themselves and how it influences the way they interact with the world.

As part of his message, Valentine compared people to a cup they draw from, made up of a mix of thoughts — memories, values and beliefs — that determines what flows from the cup.

“We’re all pouring something into the world,” Valentine said. “And what we pour doesn’t just come from what’s happened to us; it comes from what’s within us.”

Superintendent Pires and Principal Murray thanked Anthony Valentine for visiting Medway High School and engaging students in a meaningful and thought-provoking experience, as well as the staff who helped coordinate the event.

“Anthony’s message challenged students to reflect on their own experiences and think more intentionally about how they connect with others,” said Principal Murray. “It was a powerful opportunity for our entire school community to come together and engage in that kind of reflection.”

“Providing opportunities like this helps our students reflect on who they are and who they want to become,” Superintendent Pires said. “We are grateful to Anthony for sharing his message and connecting with our students in such a genuine way.”
