Southborough Police Arrest Worcester Man for Child Endangerment While OUI

SOUTHBOROUGH — The Southborough Police Department arrested a Worcester man on drunken driving and child endangerment charges following a traffic stop Saturday evening.

Around 6:55 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 14, Southborough Police Detective Anthony Vega stopped a vehicle with a defective headlight at the intersection of Marlboro and Sears roads.

Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol emanating from the driver, later identified as HONORIO LISBOA Jr., 42, of WORCESTER. He had three passengers — an adult female in the passenger seat and two small children in rear-facing car seats in the backseat.

Southborough Police arrested and charged LISBOA Jr. with the following:

  • Operating Under the Influence (OUI) of Liquor
  • Child Endangerment while OUI
  • Operation of a Motor Vehicle with a License Suspended (Subsequent Offense)
  • Motor Vehicle Operator Refusing to Identify Self
  • Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol
  • Trespass With Motor Vehicle
  • Motor Vehicle Lights Violation
  • License Not in Possession
  • Failure to Notify RMV of Name/Address Change
  • Fugitive From Justice On Court Warrant

LISBOA Jr. parked in a private driveway and did not possess a valid driver’s license. He provided police with a name and a social security number, but Detective Vega determined through Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) records that the information was for a different person.

Southborough Police Officers Theodore Davis and Joseph DeLuca arrived on the scene to assist.

Officers observed that LISBOA Jr. had glassy eyes and slurred speech.

A subsequent investigation determined that LISBOA Jr. had been operating under the influence. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Southborough Police Department for booking.

Detective Vega performed an inventory search of the vehicle and discovered three empty nip bottles (one Smirnoff, two Fireball), two opened Fireball nips, and three sealed Heineken bottles.

LISBOA Jr. eventually provided his real name and birthdate during booking, revealing an outstanding warrant out of Polk County, Florida.

On Sunday, Feb. 15, LISBOA Jr. was transported to the Worcester House of Correction, pending arraignment Tuesday in Westborough District Court.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
