BRIDGEWATER — Chief John Schlatz and the Bridgewater Fire Department invite community members to attend an Open House celebrating the official opening of the Department’s new fire station.

The Bridgewater Fire Department, which was previously headquartered at 22 School St., is now operating out of their new location at 1185 Pleasant St.

The Department encourages residents to attend the Open House to commemorate the occasion and get a firsthand look at the new station.

WHEN:

Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026

Open House from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

WHERE:

Bridgewater Fire Department, 1185 Pleasant St.

WHAT:

About 19 months after construction began, the Bridgewater Fire Department has moved to their new fire station, a 24,523-square-foot building located on Pleasant Street.

The two-floor building features larger locker room facilities, a conference room and a classroom for more on-site training sessions, as well as living facilities for on-duty firefighters, including sleeping quarters, a kitchen, dining area, day room and physical training room.

The station also includes apparatus bays with entrances that can accommodate larger vehicles such as a tower truck and airboat, which was not possible at the previous location.

The project was funded by a $23 million debt exclusion that was approved during the 2022 Annual Town Election, with $2 million for improvements at a different Bridgewater Fire Department facility.

Community members are encouraged to tour the new fire station at the Open House.
