STOW — Police Chief Michael Sallese is pleased to announce that the Stow Police Department announced Rolling Stuff-a-Cruiser Event to Benefit the Stow Food Pantry.

Three police cruisers will tour the town on Sunday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to about 2:40 p.m., to collect food and other much-needed items in the community.

Residents are encouraged to donate non-perishable items such as crackers, cereal, decaf ground coffee or instant, mayonnaise, and shaped pasta (not spaghetti). The goal is to make sure the Stow Food Pantry is stocked for holiday season when the need is greatest.

“We understand that this is a tough time for a lot of our community members,” said Chief Michael Sallese. “With grocery delivery services being on the rise, many of the donation boxes in stores aren’t getting the donations they used to. We figured this was a great way for us to bring the donation boxes to them. We will also be providing additional stops and pick up services to those who many need assistance carrying the items. We want to do all we can to support our residents and help ensure that individuals and families have the food they need for the upcoming holiday season.”

The department has posted a route map to its social media pages, which will be updated throughout the event.

If you require additional assistance with food items, please contact Phoenix Dwyer, Stow Police Department Business Officer Manager, at pdwyer@stow-ma.gov to make arrangements.
