ATTLEBORO — The Attleboro Fire Department responded alongside police Thursday evening to a serious crash on Read Street that sent three people to hospitals.
On Thursday, Sept. 25, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Attleboro firefighters responded to the area of 75 Read St. for a report of a motor vehicle crash with possible entrapment.
Upon arrival, crews found a two-car collision with heavy damage to both vehicles.
Firefighters immediately began assessing patients for injuries. The Jaws of Life were used to extricate one of the occupants. One person, a male in their 20s, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries. Two females, 17 and 55, were transported to Sturdy Hospital.
The road was closed for approximately 45 minutes.
A North Attleborough Fire Department ambulance responded and provided mutual aid.
The Attleboro Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
