NEWBURYPORT — Marshal Matthew Simons is pleased to share that Sergeant Charles Eaton recently completed the Leaders Helping Leaders Network Significant Leader Program.
The Significant Leader training series consists of three courses: Servant Officer, Intentional Leader, and Master Leader. The courses provide officers with modern leadership skills and strategies that best serve today’s workplace.
Each officer that completes the training is equipped with the tools to ensure the highest level of quality performance in themselves and those they lead.
Sergeant Eaton will receive a personalized award and a Significant Leader challenge coin for his completion of the training, along with a certificate that demonstrates his commitment to attend 80 hours of leadership training focused on becoming a Significant Leader.
Sergeant Eaton is a 25-year veteran of the Newburyport Police Department and is the Department’s Senior Sergeant. He currently leads the day shift as supervisor in addition to overseeing the Field Officer Training Program and fleet maintenance. He is also a member of the Department’s Motorcycle Unit.
Over the course of his career, he has served Newburyport Police as Department Armorer, Firearms Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, and member of the Honor Guard and regional SWAT team.
Sergeant Eaton is the fourth Newburyport officer to complete the Leadership Program.
“Sergeant Eaton has been a strong, dependable leader and role model for our officers,” said Marshal Simons. “I am proud to see him challenge himself to become a more thorough leader, and I know he will use this training to further the standard he has set for exceptional leadership.”
