Thirteen Littleton High School Seniors Earn Massachusetts State Seal of Biliteracy

LITTLETON — Superintendent Kelly Clenchy is pleased to share that 13 Littleton High School students have been recognized by the Massachusetts State Seal of Biliteracy with the Biliteracy Award.

LITTLETON — Superintendent Kelly Clenchy is pleased to share that 13 Littleton High School students have been recognized by the Massachusetts State Seal of Biliteracy with the Biliteracy Award.

The Massachusetts State Seal of Biliteracy recognizes students who have achieved proficiency in English and a partner language by high school graduation. Students will earn the seal on their diploma as a statement of accomplishment for future employers and college admissions.

This year, Littleton Public Schools recognizes 13 LHS seniors who passed the State Seal of Biliteracy testing in French, Latin, Spanish, and/or Japanese.

For their work in French literacy:

  • Elijah Fornicola
  • Lisa Hood

For their work in Latin literacy:

  • Chloe Buckellew, with Distinction
  • Nadia Dupuis
  • Elijah Fornicola, with Distinction
  • Hannah Jonsson
  • Giselle Kiernan
  • Alex Silks
  • Graham Skinner
  • Josie Thompson

For their work in Japanese literacy: 

  • Chloe Buckellew, with Distinction

For their work in Spanish literacy: 

  • Naisha Aponte
  • Maggie Berlinger
  • Emmanuel Betanzos
  • Alondra Brambila

Each student was awarded a special cord at Senior Awards Night on Monday, May 20, to be worn at graduation. 

“Congratulations to each of these students, whose hard work and dedication paved the way to their success in earning the Massachusetts State Seal of Biliteracy,” said Superintendent Clenchy. “To earn the Seal is an outstanding accomplishment, but it is the work put in behind the scenes in becoming literate in a world language that truly stands out. We are proud of all your efforts, and we congratulate you on your upcoming graduation!”
