EAST PENNSBORO TOWNSHIP — Chief William Diehl and the East Pennsboro Township Police have been preparing for this weekend’s Pennsboro Pumpkin Fest, and remind residents that ample off-site parking and a free shuttle are available.
Pumpkin Fest attendance has steadily increased each year since its inception in 1998, so not every visitor will find a prime parking spot.
“With a little help from our residents and cooperation from visitors, there should be plenty of spots for everyone who wants to attend the Pennsboro Pumpkin Fest,” said Chief Diehl. “Parking at Highmark will offer festival goers a ‘less stress’ option. I hope lots of people take advantage of it.”
Organizers are asking attendees to consider parking at the nearby Highmark Blue Shield campus in East Pennsboro Township, at 1800 Center St., Camp Hill, and taking a free shuttle to the festival.
“Our East Pennsboro Fire Police volunteers will be out there working hard to provide safe and effective parking assistance, crosswalk services and traffic control for this two-day community event,” said Chief Diehl. “Please refer to parking maps prior to attending Pumpkin Fest. Thank you all for your ongoing cooperation and understanding throughout the weekend.”
The Pennsboro Pumpkin Fest is held each October in Enola’s Adams-Ricci Park.
Crafts, vendors, music, food, contests, kids’ activities and amusements will pack the festival with family-friendly options.
A variety of local vendors — licensed food trucks, fundraising organizations and small business owners — will provide plentiful dining options.
Pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, games, prizes and inflatables will be on hand for youngsters, while live music and entertainment will pack the Gazebo.
Admission, parking and shuttle service are free.
East Pennsboro Township Park Rules & Regulations still apply during the festival, however, no pets will be allowed in the Vendor Area due to the close proximity and large number of attendees. Working and/or service animals are permitted.
Organizers ask guests to be considerate and dispose of trash and recyclables into the proper containers. Pumpkin Fest staff will empty cans periodically throughout the event.
