FAIRHAVEN — The Fairhaven Police Department is investigating a stabbing that left a man critically injured and resulted in one arrest Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday, July 1, at approximately 10:44 a.m., Fairhaven Police responded to the area of 60 Main St. for a report of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent stab wound to the torso. The male was treated at the scene by Fairhaven EMS and transported to a local hospital with injuries that are believed to be life-threatening.
An adult female was taken into custody at the scene in connection with the incident.
Based on the preliminary investigation, police believe the male and the suspect are known to one another and that there is no threat to the general public.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fairhaven Police Detective Division and Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
