Billerica Police Department Invites the Public As the Town of Billerica Celebrates America’s 250th Birthday with a Jubilee and Fireworks

The Billerica Police Department is inviting the public to join police, firefighters, EMS, and the Town of Billerica at an outdoor jubilee that will be followed by a fireworks display to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.

BILLERICA — The Billerica Police Department is inviting the public to join police, firefighters, EMS, and the Town of Billerica at an outdoor jubilee that will be followed by a fireworks display to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.

On Thursday, July 2, starting at 4 p.m., the Town of Billerica will celebrate Billerica’s Great American Boom — a 250th Jubilee at Vietnam Veterans Park on Treble Cove Road. There will be live music, activities for all ages, vendors, food, community organizations and cooling stations. At 9 p.m., Ocean State Pyrotechnics will produce its largest fireworks display of the season!

Starting at 3:30 p.m., Treble Cove Road will be closed between Republic Road and Pequot Road, so motorists not heading to the jubilee are encouraged to plan other routes.

A complimentary bus service will provide transportation from parking lots at Esquire Road and Sterling Road, St. Theresa’s Parish and O’Connor’s Hardware, Billerica Memorial High School, Town Hall, and Parker Elementary School. A limited amount of handicap parking will be available at the Parterre Garden Services lot at 2 Republic Road. Fold-up chairs, blankets and coolers will be welcome on shuttle buses.

Residents are encouraged to arrive early, as a large crowd is expected, and to be ready for a hot day by bringing plenty of fluids and shade coverings. Alcohol is prohibited at the event.

The fireworks display is sponsored by Stoneham Bank and the Town of Billerica. Ocean State Pyrotechnics will produce the display, and has confirmed the show is the largest they are scheduled to produce this season.

“Police, firefighters, EMS, and DPW staff will all be working hard to support this event, and we can’t wait to celebrate America’s birthday with our community,” said Chief Roy Frost. “It’s going to be a hot day and a large crowd, so we encourage everyone to come prepared for summer, celebration, and a truly spectacular fireworks display.”
