NEWBURYPORT — City Marshal Matthew Simons reports that the Newburyport Police Department arrested a Maine resident on multiple drug charges on Thursday night.
KRISTOPHER BOYD HAUCK, age 47, of FRYEBURG, MAINE, has been charged with:
- Trafficking in 100 Grams or More of Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Class B Drug with Intent to Distribute
- Possession of a Class B Drug
- Possession of a Class C Drug
- Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Marked Lanes Violation
At about 8:55 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, Officer Schyler Reilly observed a vehicle with Maine plates cross the center line on Storey Avenue. Officer Reilly stopped the vehicle, and during an initial investigation determined that the driver, learned to be HAUCK, was operating on a suspended license.
A subsequent search of the vehicle discovered approximately 169 grams of crack cocaine, about 9.5 grams of suspected pressed methamphetamine pills, and 15 grams of psilocybin mushrooms.
HAUCK was held on $100,000 cash bail, and is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday in Newburyport District Court.
“I am always appreciative of the awareness and proactive police work done by our officers on a daily basis,” said Marshal Simons. “This arrest by Officer Reilly for trafficking illegal drugs reinforces our commitment to keeping Newburyport safe together.”
