MIDDLEBOROUGH — The Middleborough Police Department has arrested a man in connection with an overnight stabbing.

BRANDON CAIN, 32, of MIDDLEBOROUGH, was arrested early Monday afternoon and charged with:

  • Assault with Intent to Murder
  • Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Five Counts)
  • Resisting Arrest

On June 1, at about 2:56 a.m., Middleborough Police responded to a local hospital after learning that a person suffering from stab wounds had arrived at the emergency room.

Officers determined that the adult male victim’s injuries appeared to be serious but non-life-threatening.

Officers learned that the stabbing occurred overnight on Miller Street. As a result of an investigation, police identified CAIN as the suspect.

CAIN tried to flee out a window at a residence on Southwick Street when officers attempted to place him into custody, resulting in a Taser deployment and his arrest.

He also had four outstanding default warrants for his arrest on various charges.

CAIN is expected to be arraigned Tuesday in Wareham District Court.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
