Timothy Pellerin Selected as Old Orchard Beach Town Manager

OLD ORCHARD BEACH – The Old Orchard Beach Town Council has selected Timothy Pellerin as the next Town Manager.

The Council will ratify its appointment at a meeting on Tuesday, May 19.

Pellerin most recently served Town Manager in South Berwick and brings extensive municipal and managerial experience to Old Orchard Beach. Pellerin succeeds Diana Asanza, who is retiring.

“Tim brings years of experience in local government, and we are fortunate to have him step into this role. I speak for all council members, who unanimously supported Tim through the hiring process, when I say that he will be an exceptional leader for our community,” Town Council Chair Shawn O’Neill said. “His depth of knowledge, steady leadership style, and dedication to public service make him the right person to guide the Town forward. We look forward to working with him as he begins this new chapter with us.”

Pellerin began his career in public service in 1980, as a firefighter/EMT in Brunswick, later working as a firefighter in Portland, and as Deputy Fire Chief in Westbrook.

He also has served as Lincoln County’s Director of Emergency Management & 911 Communications, Town Manager/Fire Chief in Rangely, and Town Manager in Harrison.

“I am excited to join the great team of staff in Old Orchard Beach and I’m eager to serve the citizens and community of Old Orchard,” Pellerin said. “I spent many years as a teenager enjoying and visiting Old Orchard Beach and it truly feels welcoming to come back to this wonderful community.”

Asanza has served Old Orchard Beach for 14 years, nine as Finance Director and five as Town Manager.

“I am very proud of the team here,” Asanza said. “Old Orchard Beach has prospered because of the Town’s strong financial stability due to a thoughtful, collaborative approach to budgeting and planning.”

Pellerin will start work on June 1. Asanza will retire on July 3, allowing for a smooth transition of government operations.

“I would like to thank the current Manager Diana Asanza for all her hard work over her 14 years as both Finance Director and Town Manager,” Pellerin said. “Both of these positions are challenging, and it’s obvious that Diana has done a great job by the strong foundation she is leaving behind.”

“Diana has been an outstanding leader and a dedicated employee,” O’Neill said. “Her professionalism and collaborative efforts have brought Town operations to a new level of cohesiveness. We are incredibly grateful for her commitment and wish her the very best in this next chapter.”
