Billerica Police Department Welcomes Two Experienced Officers From Other Departments

BILLERICA — The Billerica Police Department is pleased to welcome two new officers who are returning to their hometown after gaining experience working for other police departments.

BILLERICA — The Billerica Police Department is pleased to welcome two new officers who are returning to their hometown after gaining experience working for other police departments. 

Officer Matthew Duncan and Officer Daniel Girard are both Billerica natives and graduates of Billerica Memorial High School. 

Officer Duncan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, and spent 13 years working for Nashua Police as a Detective, School Resource Officer and Police Prosecutor. 

Officer Girard holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice, and spent more than a decade working as an officer for departments in Nantucket, Mashpee and Rochester. 


Both officers will be assigned to patrol duties following completion of a condensed field training program. 

“Both of these officers have extensive experience, and deep roots in Billerica,” said Chief Roy Frost. “We are excited to welcome both of these men to the Billerica Police Department.”
