Russell Street School to Host Wellness University Day

LITTLETON — Principal Collin MacDonald is pleased to share that the Russell Street School will host Wellness University Day on Wednesday, March 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Wellness University Day is a chance for students in Grades 3-5 to learn about different aspects of health and wellness. Over 30 different courses will be offered, giving students the chance to participate in activities such as yoga, cooking, craft projects, basketball, hiking, Lego building and more.

Courses are being taught by the school’s staff members and local organizations with expertise in the field.

Organizations donating their time and knowledge include local business owners from a gym, yoga studio, dance studio, martial arts dojo, and high school varsity coaches and team captains.

Students have looked through the course catalog that was offered and selected their top five preferences. Based on their selections, each student was curated a schedule for the day. They will be joined by peers who selected the same activities and rotate through three of these activities during half of the school day.

“Wellness University Day allows our students to explore healthy habits in a fun, hands-on way,” said Principal MacDonald. “This is our second time hosting this event, and we’re excited to help students discover new interests while learning how to care for their minds and bodies.”
