TYNGSBOROUGH — The Tyngsborough Police Department is welcoming two new officers who have graduated from the Municipal Police Training Committee’s (MPTC) Marlborough Police Academy.
Officers Aaron LeMay and Brian Walker graduated with the 1st Recruit Officer Class at the Marlborough Academy, which includes more than 20 weeks of intensive, standardized training.
Both Officer LeMay and Officer Walker performed at a high level during the academy, and Officer LeMay served as a Squad Leader during the program.
Officer LeMay is a Tyngsborough native who graduated from Tyngsborough High School. He serves as a military police officer with the Massachusetts National Guard and is enrolled in the Criminal Justice program at UMass Lowell.
Officer Walker has more than 15 years of public safety experience, having served in multiple communities as a firefighter and paramedic. Officer Walker is a graduate of the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy, and holds an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science and Paramedic Technology from Quinsigamond Community College.
Both officers will be introduced to the Tyngsborough Select Board on Monday, Feb. 9. Both officers will begin their Tyngsborough Police careers by participating in a Field Training Program, in which they patrol the community under the supervision of a more experienced officer.
“I’m pleased to welcome two highly-qualified individuals to the Tyngsborough Police Department,” said Chief Shaun Woods. “Both of these individuals are excited to serve our community, and I look forward to seeing where their careers with take them.”
