Two Armed Robbery Cases Result in Convictions Following Canton Police Investigations

CANTON — Interim Chief Joseph Perkins commends members of the Canton Police Department whose thorough investigations led to recent convictions in two armed robbery cases that occurred earlier this year.

On Tuesday, Feb. 11, at approximately 5:50 p.m., Canton Police responded to the parking lot of an apartment complex on Randolph Street for a report of a past armed robbery in which the victim was robbed at gunpoint by two men.

Through a detailed investigation, which included reviewing surveillance video, conducting interviews, and pursuing digital evidence, Canton Police arrested a 17-year-old male from Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and a 21-year-old male from Stoughton.

The 21-year-old recently pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a term of 3 years to 3 years and one day in jail.

On Wednesday, Jan. 22, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Canton Police responded to a report of an armed robbery by knife at the 7-Eleven convenience store at 504 Washington St.

After reviewing surveillance video, conducting interviews, and executing a search warrant, Canton Police arrested a 35-year-old Canton man.

Last week, he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 2 to 3 years in state prison.

Interim Chief Perkins credits the Canton Police personnel who were involved in both investigations.

“The thorough and diligent work of the Canton Police Department in both cases resulted in arrests, and now convictions,” said Interim Chief Perkins. “The Canton Police Department is dedicated to keeping our community safe. These outcomes are a clear reflection of that commitment.”
