MIDDLEBOROUGH — Chief Robert D. Ferreira Jr. is proud to report that two new officers have joined the Middleborough Police Department after graduating from the Plymouth Police Academy on Sept. 5.

Officers Aidan C. Nemer and Ryan C. Marshall were officially appointed to the Middleborough Police Department (MPD) during Monday evening’s Select Board meeting.

Officer Nemer, a Middleborough resident, graduated from Middleborough High School in 2020, after completing a high school internship at MPD from 2019-2020.

He attended Fitchburg State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in human services in 2024, and worked as a civilian dispatcher from 2023 to 2025. Officer Nemer also completed a college internship at MPD.

Officer Marshall, also a Middleborough resident, graduated from Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical High School in 2019. He attended Bridgewater State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2024.

Officer Marshall worked as a civilian dispatcher at Stonehill College from 2023-25, prior to attending the Police Academy.

The Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) announced that the Plymouth Police Academy’s 78th Recruit Officer Class (ROC) included 51 graduates, who each successfully completed over 20 weeks of intensive, standardized training in all aspects of law enforcement.

The 51 graduates represented 29 police agencies across Massachusetts.

The graduation ceremony was held in Plymouth Memorial Hall. Members of the 78th ROC took an oath and received their badges for service.

“Please join me in welcoming Officers Aidan C. Nemer and Ryan C. Marshall to the Middleborough Police Department,” said Chief Ferreira. “Both officers have exhibited a desire and commitment to serve our community. We wish them both success as they start their careers in law enforcement in their hometown.”
