TAUNTON — Chief Edward Walsh reports that the Taunton Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday.
Taunton Police and Fire responded to 450 Somerset Ave. at approximately 5:30 p.m. for a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, first responders located a 19-year-old male suffering a gunshot wound to the chest.
The victim was transported by Brewster Ambulance to a trauma center with serious injuries.
The incident remains under investigation by the Taunton Police Detective Division, with assistance being provided by the Plymouth County Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
