CANTON, MA — Community members and art and history enthusiasts are invited to attend the opening reception of the Paul Revere Heritage Site’s newest art exhibit, SITE-Inspired, later this month.

WHEN:

Sunday, Oct. 22, from 2-4 p.m.

WHERE:

The Yellow Barn at the Paul Revere Heritage Site, 2 Rolling Mill Way

WHAT:

The Revere and Son Heritage Trust would like to invite those passionate about art, history and the Heritage Site in Canton to attend a free event where they will have the chance to meet artists who have created pieces on display in the new exhibit, mix, mingle and enjoy light refreshments.

The new exhibit, SITE-Inspired, will feature more than 30 local artists whose work was inspired by someone or something at the Paul Revere Heritage Site. A majority of the artists with works displayed will be in attendance to discuss their piece.

Artists range from elementary and middle school students to those in their 90s. All have ties to Canton, though some are traveling from surrounding communities, Boston, and as far away as Connecticut.

Works will be judged by professional artists before the opening. First-, second- and third-place awards will be presented in both the professional and amateur categories. All younger artists will be recognized.

Opening remarks and awards will be given at the beginning of the reception from 2:10-2:20 p.m. Guests are welcome to visit the historic Yellow Barn from 2-4 p.m. The exhibition will be open to the public on Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. through February 2024.

Attendees may vote for the People’s Choice Award, which will be announced at 4 p.m.

In addition to artwork being displayed, several pieces will also be available for purchase. Proceeds from any artwork sold will benefit the artist, and artists will be donating 25% of their sales to the Revere and Son Heritage Trust, the nonprofit organization that manages the Paul Revere Heritage Site.

Those interested in attending are asked to reserve free tickets for planning purposes online here.

Art from this exhibit will be on display from October 2023 through February 2024.
