LAWRENCE — Chief Executive Officer Carina Pappalardo and The Psychological Center, Inc. thank the sponsors, donors, and participants in a Kentucky Derby-themed fundraiser that raised approximately $43,000 for TPC’s programs.
Held on Saturday, May 6 at the Haverhill Country Club, the Kentucky Derby fundraiser was attended by about 150 guests, who participated in a best hat contest, raffles, live auctions, and a “Down and Derby” musical chairs horse race where Jason Azzi, with Solarbyjazzi was the winner, among other entertainment and activities.
“It is nice when people think of you and make an effort to show they care, not walk away. We are immensely pleased at the turnout for our annual Kentucky Derby fundraiser, which ensured that our guests at Pegasus House, Women’s View, and Daybreak Shelter were the real winners of the day — our champions,” said CEO Pappalardo. “It was a night of great fun making new memories. I love when first time derby attendees see our musical chairs. The room is filled with laughter and smiles in support of our guests and most importantly, lives are being saved. I would also like to offer extra special thanks to our largest sponsors, Just Build It LLC, of North Reading, as well Jason Azzi, Solar by Jazzi, whose support was extremely generous.”
Just Build It LLC was a Secretariat-level sponsor, donating $5,000. Jason Azzi, Solar by Jazzi was a Justify-level sponsor, donating $3,000 and 10 pairs of Nike sneaker that were auctioned off. Other Justify level sponsors were Enterprise Bank and Pentucket Bank.
Funds raised will benefit programming at the Daybreak Shelter, Pegasus House, and Women’s View, the three programs operated by The Psychological Center Inc.
The Psychological Center’s next major fundraiser, the annual Overcoming Obstacles Gala, A Trick or Treat Affair, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 19, at Salvatore’s Riverwalk in Lawrence. Our appreciation to Just Build It LLC. for their $10,000 Grand Ghost Sponsorship.
