
BOURNE — Superintendent Kerri Anne Quinlan-Zhou and Bourne High School Principal Amy Cetner are pleased to share that two Bourne High School student-athletes were recognized during the 2023 Massachusetts Girls and Women in Sports Celebration.
Eleventh grade students Zoe Ridl, who plays soccer and tennis, and Elena Timo, who plays volleyball and basketball, were recognized at this year’s Girls and Women in Sports celebration hosted by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) at Faneuil Hall in April.
The celebration recognized student athletes across Massachusetts for their hard work, dedication to athletics and education, and leadership skills.Students who are recognized are nominated by their schools’ athletic director.
This year’s keynote speaker was Kristen McDonnel, the Norwood High School Girls Basketball head coach.
“Zoe and Elena are exceptional student-athletes with endless leadership potential, and we are proud of them for being recognized for this at a state level,” said Athletic Director Scott Ashworth.
“I would like to congratulate Zoe and Elena on being recognized during the Massachusetts Girls and Women in Sports Celebration,” said Principal Cetner. “Our student-athletes are committed to excellence inside and outside of the classroom and it was wonderful to see two of our dual-athletes being recognized for their hard work.”
