METHUEN — Chief Scott J. McNamara reports that the Methuen Police Department will summon a woman to court for operating under the influence of drugs when she struck a home on Broadway Street on Wednesday afternoon.

On Wednesday, April 12, at approximately 1:35 p.m., Methuen Police received a 911 call reporting a vehicle struck a building at 91 Broadway St.

Officers arrived to find a Volvo station wagon that struck a building and caused it’s front porch to collapse. Two bicycles that were parked next to the building were also destroyed.

The driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old Kingston, New Hampshire woman, was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

An on-scene investigation determined the driver was allegedly huffing and blacked out prior the crash occurring.

That woman will appear in court at a later date to face charges of operating under the influence of drugs (second offense), marked lanes violation, and speeding.
