Town of Cohasset Invites Community Members to Annual Veterans Day Observance

COHASSET — Town Manager Christopher Senior and Veterans Services Officer Philip Mahoney would like to invite community members to attend the Town of Cohasset’s Annual Veterans Day Observance ceremony this Friday.

COHASSET — Town Manager Christopher Senior and Veterans Services Officer Philip Mahoney would like to invite community members to attend the Town of Cohasset’s Annual Veterans Day Observance ceremony this Friday.

On Friday, Nov. 11 beginning at 11 a.m., the Town of Cohasset will be honoring the military veterans of the United States Armed Forces with its annual Veterans Day Observance ceremony.

The ceremony schedule is as follows:

  • 11 a.m. – Veterans March beginning at the George H. Mealy Legion Post 118, 98 Summer St. Those participating will march to Cohasset’s Veterans Memorial Park 
  • 11:05 a.m. -National Anthem performed by CHS student Quinn Kearney
  • 11:10 a.m. – Opening Prayer led by Pastor Karen Bailey-Francois of Second Congregational Church
  • 11:12 a.m. – Opening remarks by Cohasset Select Board Chair Jack Creighton
  • 11:15 a.m. – The following Veterans Day Essay Contest Winners from the Deer Hill School will present their winning essays:
    • Grace Banning from Mrs. Johnston’s class
    • Taylor Gibson from Ms. Schneider’s class
    • Isabella Carvalho from Ms. Henry’s class
    • Molly Kiernan from Mrs. DeSalvo’s class
    • Hazel Gutner from Mrs. Chapman’s class
  • 11:40 a.m. – The event will conclude with a performance of “God Bless the USA”  by CHS student Alexa Cohen

Cohasset veterans are invited to participate in the Veterans Day March. Those interested can muster at the Mealy Legion Post between 10:30-10:45 a.m. and are encouraged to attend in their uniforms.
