Hull Police Department Arrests Man in Connection with Breaking and Entering Following Foot Pursuit

HULL — Chief John Dunn reports that the Hull Police Department has arrested a man in connection with breaking and entering following a foot pursuit yesterday.

JOEL MUSIPLI, AGE 29, of BOSTON was arrested and charged with:

  • Breaking and Entering During the Daytime with Intent to Commit a Felony
  • Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle During the Daytime with Intent to Commit a Felony
  • Malicious Damage to Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of Burglarious Tools
  • Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
  • Carrying a Dangerous Weapon
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Impersonation
  • Disturbing the Peace
  • Threats to Commit a Crime

At approximately 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, Hull Police were dispatched to Harborview Road for a report of a suspicious male. The reporting party stated that the man, later identified as MUSIPLI, was also seen in a car in a driveway of a home. He was described as wearing a dark hoodie and mask.

Upon arrival, Hull Officers observed a man fitting that description on the property. While speaking with officers, the man allegedly brandished a hammer before he took off running.

During the foot pursuit, MUSIPLI attempted to throw rocks at the responding officers. Officers caught up with MUSIPLI and he was placed under arrest without further incident.

At the time of his arrest, MUSIPLI was in possession of the hammer and an eight-inch steak knife that was collected as evidence.

Members of the Hingham, Cohasset and Scituate Police Departments responded to assist in the search. 

The scene was processed by the Plymouth County Bureau of Criminal Investigation and detectives from the Hull Police Department.

MUSIPLI was transported and booked at the Hull Police Department, where he is held on $5,050 cash bail pending his arraignment at Hingham District Court

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
