BELMONT — The Irish American Police Officers Association (IAPOA) is now accepting nominations for the 2020 Awards Ceremony, which will be held later this year.
Nominations from active IAPOA members are due by Sunday, March 15 and must including supporting documents such as police reports, department commendations or news articles.
The categories that nominations can be submitted for are:
- Valor
- Life saving
- Investigations
- Meritorious service
- Community Service
- Humanitarian Acts

Recipients will be notified by the Awards Committee by March 17. Recipients will be allowed to bring a guest and invited to attend the annual event as guests of the IAPOA. Family, friends and colleagues are invited to purchase tickets or tables to the event.
The 21st Annual Awards Dinner will be held on Saturday, May 2 at the Malden Irish American Club, 177 West St., Malden. Along with a family-style meal, the event will also feature a performance by the IAPOA Pipes and Drums and Irish step-dancers.
