Shrewsbury Fire Department Featured in Student Music Video
SHREWSBURY — Chief James Vuona is pleased to share a student-produced lip-sync video that featured the Shrewsbury Fire Department.
Every year, each grade of Shrewsbury High School students compete against each other to make the best “lip dub” video — which combines lip-syncing and audio dubbing to make a music video.
Sophomore Ashley Girouard, one of the lead producers of the sophomore class video, reached out to Chief Vuona to ask if he would be willing to help them with their music video for the annual school-wide lip dub challenge.
“Because our school is so community-oriented, we thought that including the fire department would be a really cool and unique way to make our video stand out,” said Girouard. “Everyone loved the final product and we are so thankful to the firefighters for their help!”
Students were assigned a song in the fall and have been brainstorming, filming and editing to create the final video which was presented during a spirit rally on Friday, April 13. The sophomore class video won second place.
“We were more than happy to help these students out with their video and were so proud to hear that they won second place,” Chief Vuona said. “Watching students share their creativity is always inspiring and we were honored to be a part of it.”
The video was filmed, directed and edited by students, including sophomore Sohil Doshi who was also one of the lead producers. To view the music video, click here.
