North Haven Fire Department Battles 2-Alarm Fire on Green Hill Road Early Monday Morning

NORTH HAVEN – Chief Paul Januszewski reports that the North Haven Fire Department responded early this morning to a house fire on Green Hill Road.

A 911 call came in at 3:04 a.m. for the home at 6 Green Hill Road. Upon arrival, firefighters noted that all four residents had evacuated from the building and that, thankfully, no one was left inside.

A second alarm was soon ordered.

Fire crews found a heavy fire that appeared to start on a porch and extend upward and inward to rooms on the first and second floor and the attic. Firefighters commenced an aggressive interior attack to bring the blaze under control.

Five North Haven engines, one ladder, one rescue, and a deputy chief were all on scene. Substantial overhauling was needed to ensure that the fire was out, and the building sustained significant damage from fire and smoke.

No one was hurt, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
