Georgetown Fire Department Hosts Local Boy Scout Troop for Station Tour

GEORGETOWN – Chief Fred Mitchell Jr. and the Georgetown Fire Department are pleased to share photos from Boy Scout Tiger Den 2 Troop 50’s visit to the fire station last week.

On Monday, March 21, local Boy Scouts from Tiger Den 2 Troop 50 and their families were invited to tour the Georgetown Fire Station. The tour included a demonstration of how firefighters put on their uniform and gear, and how they prepare to respond to emergencies. Boy Scouts were able to meet firefighters at the station, talk to the Chief, and learn about fire prevention and safety. At the end of their visit, the Scouts were allowed to climb into the fire engines.

“We were very happy to host our local Boy Scouts from Georgetown,” said Chief Mitchell. “These events are our favorite way to connect with the community and teach fire safety in a personal way.”
